A Connecticut man is home flush with cash. The Stonington gambler was the last man standing at the end of the World Poker Championships in Las Vegas.

The deal is he is $5 million richer. Gregg Raymer honed his skills at Foxwoods casino and playing in the big tournament was a dream come true.

He has five million reasons now to smile. The winning hand makes Greg Raymer the world champion of poker.

"I am not sure if I really believe it yet," says Greg Raymer, World Poker Champion.

The Stonington man received a warm welcome home. He is a regular at Foxwoods and returns to the casino a multi-millionaire.

"It took me a while to realize that I had won. And I had to look really carefully at his cards and the cards on the board and my cards. Did I win, did he? Oh my God, I won. Then it was like... Yeah...," says Raymer.

The patent attorney took home a cool five million in cash after winning the world series of poker at Binions Casino in Las Vegas. Behind his signature glasses, Raymer spent seven tiring days reading the faces of the world's poker pros.

"I bought them and I wore them two years ago, the first time I played the tournament. And I have worn them since then at an occasional tournament and people do tell me, 'I hate looking at you when you are wearing those glassed. They are too freaky' ," says Raymer.

Raymer qualified for the tournament on the internet.

"I was able to win my seat plus travel expenses at Pokerstars.com for $160."

Raymer beat out 2,500 players for a seat at the final table.

"Luck is a huge factor. What really matters is how hard you study and how quick you can think on your feet."

Raymer says he just loves the game. As for what he plans to do with the $5 million, he says he will keep on playing. He reminds people that if you are going to play poker, be responsible.
