Poker tournament to benefit The Homemakers' Auxiliary

Poker tournament on January 23rd

More than $8,600 in prize money will be awarded at the Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament hosted by The Homemakers' Auxiliary and the Rochester American Legion on Sunday, Jan. 23, at the Rochester Legion, 94 Eastern Ave., Rochester.

The tournament entrance fee is $100 in advance, and $125 at the door. Registration begins at 11 a.m.; play begins at noon, and open poker will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: first place, $2,500; second place, $1,500; third place, $1,000, fourth place, $800, fifth place, $600 and sixth through 14th places, $250.

Since its inception, the auxiliary has raised more than $30,000 for The Homemakers' programs, and donated hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours to the agency.
