Florida law student answers poker sirens

Florida student Vanessa Rousso is taking a break from her full scholarship at law school to compete in a televised poker tournament.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel detailed Rousso's evolution from high-school valedictorian to Miami law student to rising star in the card shark tank.

The 23-year-old from Wellington, Fla., will be at the table on the World Poker Tour "Ladies Night," which will be televised on The Travel Channel Saturday night.

The newspaper said Vanessa aced economics and game theory while attending Duke University and writes a column in American Poker Player magazine.

Her poker winnings have topped $650,000 -- and she has only been playing professionally since April.
