A 57-year-old woman was stabbed to death with a poker, allegedly by her son in Delmas on Sunday, police said on Tuesday.

A 57-year-old woman was stabbed to death with a poker, allegedly by her son in Delmas on Sunday, police said on Tuesday.

Sergeant Charles Nkosi said the son had been arrested after the murder, which took place at the family home following an argument.

The woman died at the home and the son fled, but was arrested later and would appear in the Delmas magistrate's court on Wednesday on a charge of murder.
